Let’s take a moment to say, “Thank You” to God today! I hope this prayer of gratitude will be a blessing to you and your loved ones this Thanksgiving.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the privilege we have to enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise (Ps. 100:4).
Thank You for being good, that Your love endures forever, and that Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations (Ps. 100:5).
Thank You that today is the day You have made, so we will rejoice and be glad in it (Ps. 118:24). Thank You that we can praise Your name in song and glorify You with thanksgiving (Ps. 69:30). Thank You for being the Rock of our salvation, a great God, and the great King above all gods (Ps. 95:2-3).
Thank You for being gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love
(Ps. 145:8).
Thank You for forming us for Yourself, that we might declare Your praise (Isa. 43:21).
Thank You that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us so that we could be reconciled to You (Rom. 5:8-10).
Thank You for making our bodies temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19).
Thank You for Your wonderful deeds and for being a God who satisfies the thirsty and the hungry with good things (Ps. 107:8-9).
Thank You for being near to us and that people everywhere tell of Your wonderful deeds
(Ps. 75:1).
Thank You for being our strength and shield and as we trust You with our hearts, we find help (Ps. 28:7).
Thank You for being a God who forgives all of our sins, heals all our diseases, redeems our lives from the pit, and crowns us with love and compassion (Ps. 103:3-4).
Thank You for being close to all who call upon You in truth (Ps. 145:18).
Thank You for the many ways You give us wisdom and strength (Daniel 2:23).
Thank You for taking pleasure in those who fear You, in those who hope in Your steadfast love (Ps. 147:11).
Thank You that one day we will join the angels around Your throne in singing, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come” (Rev. 4:8).
Thank You for the gifts You have given to us, as every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17).
Thank You that our souls can be at rest today for You have dealt bountifully with us
(Ps. 116:7).
Thank You that we can give thanks to You in all circumstances because this is Your will for us
(1 Thess. 5:16).
Thank You that as we give our requests to You with thanksgiving, we can count on Your peace to guard our hearts and minds (Phil. 4:6-7).
Thank You that with Your help, we can be devoted to prayer, watchful, and thankful
(Col. 4:2).
Thank You that just as we have received Christ Jesus as Lord, we can continue to live our lives in You, rooted and built up in You, strengthened in the faith and overflowing with thankfulness (Col. 2:6-7).
Help us to have grateful hearts so that we can say, “Thank You, Lord” in everything, not just in the month of November, but always, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
(Eph. 5:20).
Amen.
